a rainbow...

This beautiful box of colour pencils is one of my most beloved possessions...I saved hard to buy such a treasure many years ago - doesn't that make them all the more precious? Such wonderful creations can come from this rainbow of possibilities and with a little water added another dimension emerges.

Today I spent catching up with a long lost friend at the beach...the turquoise of the ocean, the yellow of the sand and the bright blue sky. Can you see the colours above?

imagining...

...what this might become. I can hardly wait to see what might be! Perhaps you'll see when my little shop opens in due course.

I found a tiny bit of autumn at Tamborine Mountain yesterday (although nothing to compare to the autumn leaves in Christchurch!). I love where I live very much but I do miss the changing seasons...and so my idea broadens...

surprises amongst the autumn leaves...

...beautiful blooms! Dahlias and roses and so much more...one would almost think it was spring!

autumn leaves

Green with a tinge of yellow...vivid orange, deep red then a rustic brown. Against the clear, bright, blue sky only to float like a rain shower so gently to the ground. A beautiful carpet of colour, crisp under foot...perfect for throwing up and dancing in.
These lovely images are from Christchurch, New Zealand...a sad trip home I made a few days ago to farewell a wonderfully gracious lady. One most appreciate the little things in life and savour every second of each passing day and the simple wonders they bring.

lovely letterpress

Isn't letterpress the most lovely, old art form? I've only recently come across letterpress...I want to learn all there is about this beautiful old style of printing. Just down the road in Brisbane, is the gorgeous Bespoke Letterpress Boutique and I just had to have one of these limited edition prints...well two actually! So now I have three after my little purchase last week! And yes, Alischa has quite possibly the prettiest blog!

beautiful treasures

beautiful words
within a beautiful vessel
created by the beautiful kylie

The very first blog I stumbled upon was instinct and grace...it still inspires and encourages me in my endeavours whenever I stop by. This beautiful vessel is part of my every day and is truly one of my treasures.

serendipity

A collaboration between two beautifully talented local artists - Kylie Johnson of Paper Boat Press and Alischa Herrmann of Bespoke Press...such serendipity. This gorgeous limited edition print will now find a place in my little home...to be admired and cherished by family and friends. It was, after all, so wonderfully displayed by Sarah at Coming Up Roses how could I resist!

sweet delights

Cupcakes with high tea...what a delightful way to celebrate ones birthday! This little card, like all my work, is lovingly drawn and written by hand making each card individual and with its own little idiosyncrasies.

a little garden treat...

This miniature rose is quite perfect don't you think?

lemonade perhaps...

Freshly picked from my very own garden!

With so many lovely, juicy lemons and still more on the tree these have been juiced and frozen for use at a later date...450ml from just six lemons!

I must find some more recipes that use lemons...delish!

dream...believe...create

Inkala Images, a boutique paperie borne from a love of all things paper. The endless images and spirit that can be created and captured with paper - the humour and fun; love and beauty. A bespoke card - folded...or not; smooth...or embossed; adorned with a drawing...or words; sometimes even wrapped in a gorgeous scent. Tactile and personal from those dearest to us.

This is a journey inside the creation of a long held dream - Inkala Images. It will include the little things in life that inspire - nature; moments in time; heavenly places, both near and far...and kindred spirits.

Join me as I dream, believe and create.
