Cherries at this time of year...such a treat to behold! So delish too...and the colour so divine.

I have the most wonderful childhood memory of spending what seemed like a whole day on a trampoline strategically placed under a gorgeous old cherry tree in my dear friend's garden. We must have been about five...and my how we enjoyed all those cherries!

bright bursts of yellow

Isn't Mother Nature so very clever...even in winter she delights me with her little bursts of colour. The various types of wattle that Miss Molly and I pass on our daily walks brightens even the most dreary of winter days. I couldn't help but capture their cheery presence this morning.

A morning spent at Point Danger on the Queensland/New South Wales border - the fresh breeze, the warmth of the sun, a flask of coffee and a sweet treat with dear friends. Even the local wildlife came by to visit!

My gorgeous ragamuffin, my constant companion and best furry friend. With her sweet little face, one floppy ear and her long, long legs...she really is so adorable. She runs like the wind, gives the sloppiest kisses and the softest snuggles.

A work in progress...borne from frustrations at another creation in the works! There is always a silver lining! I drew up the candy cane stripes and am hoping to incorporate the twine which I absolutely adore. A sweet little something to add to presents...or just 'because'...when it's completed.

lazy winter weekends

Beautiful, warm Queensland sunshine to laze in. Time for baking, time for creating, time for some market browsing (Portside Boutique Markets to be precise with some gorgeous wares to marvel at...so many talented people!). Time to enjoy the little things with family and friends...quite the perfect weekend really!

Sitting on the table waiting to be placed in my fruit bowl...they look so appealing, even with their imperfections.

A dainty violet creeper planted so long ago is now awash with perfectly formed miniature flowers in my front garden bed. The recent rains have given them just the tonic they needed...they're so sweet dancing in the winter breezes!

The creative process is a gloriously wonderful journey...sometimes the destination not quite as one imagined at the start...but perfect non the less. This little design was commissioned for Christmas 2007 for a New Zealand company with a base in Brisbane. A take on the New Zealand fern complete with sparkly festive decoration.
