nice package

I just couldn't resist...these lovely candy colours on super cute wooden spools!  Perfect for wrapping little (and big!) girls presents with.  My nice package arrived last week, adorned with a sweet note and some extra twine - so lovely.  Sadly, the Nice Package store has since closed (I hope temporarily) but you can still be inspired by visiting Ez's gorgeous blog, Creature Comforts.

Oh, and another very yummy 'package' was delivered this evening  - freshly picked raspberries straight from my Dad's garden...soooo delish! Completely out of season, yet the canes are producing so many scrummy berries and they are my absolute favourite!

expectations

If only it were that simple!  One of many sweet little quotes from the delightful work of Kate Knapp.

bugs and bees

Amongst the magnolia flowers this morning, in between showers of rain, the bugs and bees came out to play.

I'm hoping the fresh air, sun and mingling with nature helps send whatever ailment I may have up, up and away...for I am rather tired of it now!

today...

I'm feeling a little pale...not quite myself...most likely the beginning of the flu.  So I'm snuggling in...reading some magazines and my sweet book

Seems this hydrangea is also feeling a little pale...normally bright pink, this little guy is almost white.  He's made me smile.

a once courageous heart

hauntingly beautiful
Such a treat to partake in the launch of this sweet poetry book. A spectacular view across the Brisbane River with lights twinkling against the water and a moody sky above; new acquaintances to meet and friendships strengthened; inspirational words and the culmination of long held dreams...

covers and lists

One should never judge a book by it's cover...but how could you not fall in love with this charming cover? It was while I was lunching at the lovely Riverbend Bookstore and Cafe, with dear friends Audra and Karen, that the colour and detail caught my eye. Perhaps because it was getting it's very own display in the window we were sitting next to, perhaps also when we commented on the sweet styling the lady gave such a wonderful review... perhaps it's simply because I love books and reading (in case you hadn't guessed)! I've yet to lose myself in the story... maybe I might indulge in an hour of quiet time this afternoon - the rain is still falling on my tin roof, it's cosy inside...it's perfect reading weather afterall!
